Living in the Virgin Islands Paradise

Whether you are choosing to come for a short while or you intend to stay indefinitely, you will soon find yourself entrenched in the Virgin Islands lifestyle.  This means gaining an appreciation for the Caribbean and the diverse cultural heritage it brings with it.  From the days of early colonial exploration and expansion through the time of pirates and buccaneers, the Virgin Islands have been a special place.  In the modern era, a decision to establish a submarine base to guard the Panama Canal prompted the sale from Denmark to the United States of this lovely paradise.

Regardless of the reason you have chosen to come here, you are just like those old explorers and adventure seekers when it comes to admiring the beauty and serenity of the American Virgins.  For several years the Virgin Islands remained a relatively secluded location.  In the nineteen fifties, people began to discover the allure and attraction that this tropical American territory had to offer.  It was at the end of that tranquil decade that The Viking Corporation was established.

Vikings arrive in the Virgin Islands

George and Margaret Lovejoy came to the The Virgin Islands in 1957, after retiring from The US Navy, and started The Viking Corporation.
